When you google “fall 2021 trends to wear to the office” there are so many results, it’s mind boggling! But now I’ve done the work for you. Here are my favorite fall 2021 trends to wear to the the office! On top of that, I’m sharing ideas of how to wear them.
Most of the trends I’m sharing are appropriate for all but the most conservative of offices. These are things I’m recommending for my private clients and you, too! Even if your back-to the office date hasn’t come up yet, you’ll find plenty of fun, comfortable things to wear for Zoom and beyond.

Leather has come a long way and faux leather has come even further! After a short hiatus from fashion leather is back and not just skin tight pieces. You’ll find dresses, pencil skirts, joggers, high waisted pants, leggings, iconic moto jackets, leather blazers and more. Spanx has even come out with faux leather flares!

My favorite way to style trend pieces is with classic supporting styles. If you’re a little more daring, try leather with leather; however, you may want to vary your textures such as suede with soft lambskin.
To say that rich, bright, saturated colors are in style is almost an understatement. If you missed my post dedicated to fall 2021 color trends, check it out here. The best part of this trend is that even if you don’t wear extra bright colors (like me,) you’ll find plenty of non-traditional, mood boosting colors to wear to the office
Try wearing one saturated colors all in one outfit, varying the textures and shades a bit…otherwise known as a monochromatic color scheme.
Or color block your outfit…although this may be a bit much for a lot of professions. On the other hand, I’m a big fan of being able to wear all of your clothes for your whole life, so it could be perfect for going out.
However perfect for the transition between sandals and boots, loafers aren’t a new trend. In fact, loafers in general are uber-classic. What’s new are loafers with chunky lug soles. The added bonus is the thick sole adds cushioning. Your tootsies will thank you at the end of the day!
Not a fan of lug soles? No worries! Other ways to update your loafer game include: shearling linings and trim, bold chains and tassels, woven leather, and non-traditional colors.
Sweater vests are another updated classic for 2021. Not to date myself, but I wore sweater vests a long time ago, lol!
Quite honestly, almost any style sweater vest works for 2021, but the very best ones are textured. I especially like the slouchy styles…they just feel newer!
Another twist to this trend is to wear them all alone while the weather holds, and layer them over tops and dresses when it gets colder.
Full length trousers
After what feels like decades, full length trousers are back! (Seriously, I am so over cold ankles delivered by cropped pants!)
How can you not love the trouser trend started back in the 1930’s? The fall 2021 trend includes both traditional trousers and wide leg trousers.
There are far too many ways to wear trousers than you have time to read about today, but you can wear them traditionally for work with heels and a blouse and sweater or jacket. You can also wear them with sneakers and a graphic t for casual. Pair these full length pants with a silky camisole and heels for date night. (Perfect pant length has never been so unlimited as it currently is!)
I’m planning on adding loafers, saturated colors and full length trousers to my wardrobe. What are your favorite fall 2021 trends to wear to the office?
