Comfortable Fall Basics to Mix and Match

For my Fall Trend Report I shared a lot  about “fall colors”. You know, they’re the warm colors that just ooze fall coziness! If you’re more of a fan of black, white and grey…you may have felt left out. But never fear, I’m featuring the ever popular neutrals in this post. No matter whether you are a member of “team black and white” or “team fall colors,” there’s no denying the power of having a few basic black pieces in your closet. It doesn’t get much easier to get dressed than with a pair of black pants! Today I thought [..] read more

How to Create a Mix and Match Capsule

In my last post about expanding your wardrobe with a 2 piece dress, I showed quite a few mix and match possibilities starting with a matching coral top and skirt. In this post, I’ll show the various options using the top and a pair of coral pants. Since coral is one of my favorite summer hues, I already had all of the pieces except the 2 new ones. Expanding your wardrobe with a 2 piece dress

The inspiration for this post came from the two piece dress I recently bought for the APW 30th Anniversary party I helped host on June 25. The moment I saw the 2 pieces hanging in the fitting room, (a salesperson found them for me…for once!) I instantly began to see the many, many possibilities for both the top and bottom. You simply can’t tell it’s a dress when it’s on and adjusted properly. (It’s necessary [..] read more

Packing for the perfect weekend getaway

Last weekend my hubby and I had a little getaway to the Colorado Wine Country, (a very, very cool gift from my sister, brother-in-law, mom and dad!) I’ll just admit it right now. I’m not a light packer! While I’m great at packing light and efficiently for my clients, for some reason I always panic when I’m packing and end up adding all kinds of last minute items to my bag…making it very heavy no mater what the size! This time I made an adamant resolution that I wasn’t going to do this any more. And ta-da…my duffle bag was [..] read more

3 ways to wear it

Yesterday I was shopping for a client at Nordstrom and complimented one of the sales associates, Katie, on her outfit. It was a printed cotton, sleeveless shift dress with white “jewels” at the neckline. What made it pop was that she had topped it with a fitted, denim jacket. Katie went on to tell me that they play a game called “wear it three ways.” She also told me she loves jean jackets and can play “wear it 90 ways” with the jacket. This got me thinking.  Because women are so busy, and it’s human nature, it’s easy to fall [..] read more
