How to Dress for 4 Seasons in One Day

I saw the meme below and got inspired to revisit a post from 2010 titled Dressing for Four Seasons in One Day. I grew up in St. Louis where it was fall from September through November. Mother nature wasn’t mixed up like she is here in Colorado. When I moved here in high school, I had to learn all about layering—it took a while! If you live in an area with normal seasons, you’re probably not going to get this post completely. However, if you run hot or cold or simply struggle with layering, you’ll love today’s tips! Fall fashion stress

While my tag line is “I help take the stress out of getting dressed,” please don’t think for a minute that I never encounter any stress in my wardrobe. I’ve been super busy and having fun helping clients organize their closets and buying new clothes. It’s exciting seeing a wardrobe transform. My stress lies in the fact that my tendinitis is still bugging me, and most of my clothes need to be [..] read more

Never wear?

Yesterday on about.com, Cynthia Nellis posted an article titled, “Top 5 Things a Grown Woman Should Never Wear.” She lists: overalls, pig tails, knee socks, tie dye, and rabbit fur. I’ll agree with Cynthia on the overalls. They’re cute on kids, but they just don’t flatter any adult woman’s figure type. Luckily, I can’t say I’ve seen anyone wearing them around town. Pigtails-They can be okay for working out or perhaps skiing, and the little short ones look kind of cute for a sporty look. Knee socks-Showing up as a trend this season, they’re a little different than what you [..] read more

Image Inspration

I just returned from the Association of Image Consultants International, (AICI,) Education conference that was held in San Francisco over the weekend. Although it’s always stressful packing for these events, I had a great time at the conference and made a number of new image friends. Most of all it is fun being around women who speak the same language, (fashion,) as I do. All of my new found friends are not only sharp, but inspiring. I love seeing how fashionable women of all shapes, sizes, and ages pull outfits together to uniquely bring out their personal style and personality. [..] read more
