What to Wear to Work for Valentine’s Day

What to wear to work for Valentine’s Day? I’m guessing that, especially this far in advance, it’s not really top of mind.

Am I right? Even though Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday, (hello pink and red!) you’re more interested in what to wear to work any day that’ll make you feel more put together, polished and stylish. So…

I’ve put together some looks that will be great for Valentine’s day for the office, but truly I’m concentrating on giving you tips and tricks for adding to your wardrobe or easily shopping your closet for new outfits that aren’t the same old, same old…

One of the big theme’s for 2022 seems to be “You do you.” And while I totally agree with being authentic as it suggests, I also think there’s something to be said for changing things up and trying something different.

But don’t worry…my outfit ideas aren’t extreme. Actually, they’re the opposite…a little dressier than what a lot of jobs are dictating right now. Dressing up instantly makes you stand out…in a good way! And don’t worry about what others think. Trust me, they’ll be envious!

Aaand…to get you more mileage out of your clothes, I’m sharing ways you can dress the outfits down as well.

To shop the items, simply click on each item underneath the big pic and it takes you right to the site to purchase. You can also visit my storefront to see these and a bunch of my other recs. I may make a small commission from your purchase at no extra cost to you.

Bubblegum for Valentine’s Day

Wear to work outfit formula: Bright blazer + white top + black pants + basic jewelry + fun shoes + sleek bag

Dress it down formula: Swap the black pants –> jeans.  Trade the pumps –> booties.

One of the keys to feeling put together is to have your outfit ready in advance. This outfit is just a super simple pair of slim black pants, a pink blazer, white top, fun shoes and basic jewelry. Chances are good you can shop your closet for this outfit.

Don’t have a hot pink blazer? A light pink blazer will do. Actually, any color blazer will work…I told you this was a simple formula.

Don’t have colored jackets? Wear a black jacket and add a pop of hot pink as a top, shoes, or bag.

And yes, it’s fun to plan this for Valentine’s Day, but truly this outfit can work any day of the week.

❤️  Did you know I have a storefront where you can shop these items and all my picks any time? You can also see the outfits in a larger scale.

Workin’ at home on V-Day

Workin’ from home outfit formula: Jardigan + contrasting color knit shell + (faux leather) joggers + slippers/sneaker + fun jewelry

Evening out outfit formula: Trade in the knit shell for a silky tank/camisole. Add a sexy bootie or shoe.

Do you know about the jardigan? It’s a sweater but in the shape of a cardigan. They’ve become very popular…comfy but you’ll feel professional and have all the right lines showing on your zoom calls.

Also, so many women have asked me what kind of pants they should wear when they’re working from home. Well, faux leather joggers and all of these styles of pants are perfect!

Next, for WFH accessories, I like something a bit more colorful.  These earrings will pop on screen (psst…they come in other gorgeous colors as well)  and I couldn’t resist a pretty heart pendant necklace.

Pop of pink

Wear to work meeting outfit formula: Black/white blazer + refined pink top + fashion forward black pants + subtle pink jewelry + sophisticated shoes + sleek pink bag

Wear to work no meeting outfit formula: sophisticated pink sweater + fashion forward black pants + sleek, heeled bootie + sophisticated accessories

I think this one is my favorite! It’s definitely the dressiest of the 3 ideas so far, and I feel my very best when I’m really dressed up.

And those pants! One of my favorite clients owns these, and they’re awesome. (We created tons of outfits with them, and she’ll have them for years.)

This outfit means business-you will own the room! Yes, you’ve popped in some pink, but the blazer, pants and accessories are all tailored, balancing out any sweetness.

I urge you to use these outfit ideas and formulas for Valentine’s Day and beyond. When you know what you’re going to wear to work way before you have to head out the door, you not only cut out that morning stress, but you also know you look amazing…and that equals CONFIDENCE!
