As Colorado S-L-O-W-L-Y starts to open up, it’s a great time to start planning for our futures. (Wow, that might be the most prophetic thing I’ve ever said, LOL!)
What I mean in terms of your wardrobe is now is a good time to start taking stock of what we have and what we might need for emerging back into society.
There’s a part of me that feels the need to tell you that fashion/wardrobes aren’t the only thing I ever think about, they’re truly not. (In fact, as I’m typing right now, I’m still in this morning’s work out gear, lol.)
Style is simply the only thing I write about…perhaps I’ll branch out soon.
Back to the planning part…It seems like this summer is going to be really hot! I mean it’s supposed to be 91 degrees (F) today, tomorrow and Sunday!
So whether you’re staying home as much as possible, picnicking (with social distancing) in the park, attending a small wedding or even going back to your office part time…what’s the COOLEST thing you can wear?
A dress! I love wearing dresses…especially ones that don’t touch my waist and tummy!
Now if you’re about to stop reading because you think dresses are too dressy for your casual lifestyle, please read on…
Here are just a few reasons why dresses are so fabulous:
- There is an abundance dresses that are just as casual as shorts
- Again, they’re super cool, allowing for lots of airflow
- With a simple change of accessories, you can completely change the look of a dress.
- Like the classic little black dress, you can choose a simple solid colored dress and make it work for any occasion.
- It’s one piece…pop it over your head, add accessories and shoes, and you’re out the door!
That’s right, even as a personal stylist, I like to get dressed with ease!
Now that I’ve sung the praises of a summer dress, I’ve curated my favorite summer dresses for you to shop or simply plan your wardrobe with.
These are brands I know fit well, are good quality and cover a range of personal styles and prices.
Lastly, I think it’s always a good idea to have at least one dress in your closet that’s dressy enough for a wedding or other last minute invitation to a dressy affair.
Even if it’s not something you’ll wear often, you’ll have it on hand and be ready at a moment’s notice!
Over to you…will you wear dresses this summer to beat the heat? Do you have a classic dress you can dress up or down as needed?

Lots of good tips here, thanks! Your bonus tip of pulling hair up into a bun or pony is a MUST for me in Florida. In fact, I often only half jokingly refer to myself as Our Lady of the Perpetual Ponytail.
Great tips for the summers! These tips gonna help lots of people. Keep it up.
