A few weeks ago, I told you all about how I have to say goodbye to an old friend, my white linen safari jacket I purchased in Paris. As sad as I am about retiring the piece, I’m very excited about my new friend, my white linen blazer from Theory.
Also in the last post, I promised I’d show you how I’m now styling my new jacket. As we are slowly sliding into fall, it doesn’t seem very timely to be making outfits with a white linen jacket, but if I wait until spring, I’ll forget to post about it, lol!
This first picture shows one way I used to wear the safari jacket with a dark taupe, sheer shoulder tee and black wide legged cropped pants (aka, culottes.) Actually, I “copy catted” this look from a Pinterest outfit. The outfit I’d seen was shown with Birkenstocks, and I was thrilled to pair my pieces with flats for a casual, cool look. (I honestly can’t wear heels when I’m out shopping all day!)
My new blazer by Theory is crisper, optic white and has what makes me think of a tuxedo styling (the way the points come together in the front.) It feels much dressier, so the outfit needs heels to look right. I love how the cage sandals match my Tee and hair, (and for heels, they really are fairly comfortable.)
Here is another white jacket I really like that you can create a similar look with.
And this jacket is a completely different personal style, but could be very interesting too!
As a wardrobe consultant, people expect me to have a lot of clothes. I don’t like to have a ton of clothes, but when I mix and match outfits, which I love to do, it seems like I have 2 tons of clothes. So while I was at it, I decided to play with another look. These are all somewhat new pieces, so it’s even more exciting. The gray Tee (which had been on my shopping list forever!) is from White House Black Market. It’s amazingly comfy and washes like a dream.
In my wildest dream, I never imagined I’d own a pair of joggers…until I tried these on. OMG, they are crazy comfortable!! You’ll be hard pressed to find me out of them these days!
Anyway, these pants are also from White House Black Market. (Apparently they have comfy clothes, lol!) Anyway, you can’t get much more basic than white, black and gray, but what makes this athleisure outfit work is that I’ve paired the soft, athletic looking pieces with the tailored jacket and heels. It’s the juxtaposition that makes it stylish, and no one is wondering if I’ve just been to the gym!
(And by the way, the grey heels are pretty comfy, too! They’re my Stuart Weitzman gems I got at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale about 6 years ago. As I’m getting older I’m finding my feet love expensive shoes. My pocketbook doesn’t!)
I’m excited to start getting a little wear out of my new friend before it feels too summery. And I’ll be excited to style the jacket even more ways next spring.

Hi Judy!
You can wear the wide leg crops for sure! I recommend wearing heels and making sure plenty of your leg shows to keep you looking tall.
