How to wear Greenery, the Pantone 2017 Color of the Year

How to wear Greenery

Pantone, the world’s foremost color forecaster, has proclaimed Greenery, a fresh, yellow green, as the 2017 Color of the Year. I for one am really excited about it. As much as I am drawn to Rose Quartz, the color of 2016, it’s neither easy to wear nor a client favorite.

As a fashion consultant in Denver, green is a favorite color of many of my clients, and most love all shades of it. Yes, Greenery is a very specific color according to Pantone; however, it’s inspiration for the fashion industry, and the shades of green you’ll find in the stores will vary just a bit.

If you are new to wearing color or just not sure how to add it into your wardrobe, here are some ways to dip your toes or dive into this fresh shade with ease:

5 Ways to wear Greenery:

Greenery with white

This combo is a natural—think white skirts, white jeans or white accessories with an all Greenery outfit.

Greenery with light neutrals

I especially like the warm green with the cool neutral tone (vs. camel) that you see above left.

Greenery with navy

Green and blue are right next to each other on the color wheel, and navy feels a bit more spring-like than black. Feel free to pair the yellow green with aqua and bright blue as well.

Greenery in a print

If this intense, bright green is just a bit too much for you, tone it down with a print. Of course, you’ll find it in quite a few of the season’s leafy, floral prints.

Greenery accessories

Just not sure if Greenery is a great color for your skin tone, but you love it anyway? Try it as an accessory! There will be tons of bags, jewelry (think peridot,) scarves and shoes to add just the right pop of freshness into your wardrobe.

I encourage you to follow these tips and add Greenery into your wardrobe for spring 2017. Wearing the green accessories, even if Denver runs into a bit more snow, will help you feel stylish and perk up your mood.
