Now that fall is OFFICIALLY here, it’s time for my annual Fall Trends Report! Today I’m starting with my top 5 favorites…stay tuned for more to come!
All of today's trends are easy ways to update your fall office style without overhauling your entire wardrobe.
First things first…why trends?
As a professional woman, you might be wondering, “Are trends even important?”
You don’t need a new wardrobe every season, but looking modern signals competence, boosts your confidence, and shows you’re current.
The trends I bring you are wearable, professional*, and built to last. Nothing extreme, and you never need to adopt anything that doesn’t feel like you.
(*I’ve snuck in a couple of trends you could wear for travel or date night, too!)
One last caveat: some of the looks below may seem a little over the top. They're not necessarily wearable for most women...just examples to give you the gist.

Fall Office Style 2025: 5 Trends That Actually Work for Work
Brown is the new Black
I featured brown as a trend last fall too, but this season… It’s EVERYWHERE! At the time I’m writing this post, it’s honestly hard to find pieces that aren’t brown.
Seriously… if you haven’t added some brown into your wardrobe yet, what are you waiting for?
And if you don’t think you can wear brown, give it another chance...
There are warm and cool browns in every tint and shade. There’s truly a brown for anyone!

Texture! Add Interest to Your Fall Office Style
2025 could be called “the year of texture”! Even in professional dress, it adds major interest to your look.
Consider:
- Suede
- Shearling
- Velvet
- Faux fur
- Leather
- Satin
- Tweed
- Quilting
- Boucle... and more!
For a one-of-a-kind outfit, try mixing a few textures in one look. (And don't forget, jewelry and accessories are a great way to add even more texture into your style! It’s an easy way to look effortlessly stylish.
Belts! A Statement-Making Fall Office Style Trend
Wide, skinny, corset, western, hip-slung and more… BELTS are trending!
If you love them, this is your year to stock up. And if you usually skip belts, now’s a great time to try one.
(And...if you don't think you can wear belts, I assure you there's a way for each body shape to wear belts in a flattering way.)
Belts finish an outfit like nobody’s business! Think of them as the “everything bagel seasoning” of your wardrobe.
Pinstripes with Personality
Like belts, pinstripes are back in a big way.
A pinstriped blazer with jeans brings instant cool-girl energy, and pinstriped pants add pizzaz even in the most conservative office environment.
Wearing a full pinstripe suit? Add feminine accessories if you want to balance the “borrowed from the boys” vibe.
Track Pants as Pants
Yes, track pants! And no, I don’t mean the fleece kind you throw on to binge Netflix.
This trend is all about woven pants with side stripes*, styled with sharp, tailored pieces. For a more casual vibe, try knit track pants with dressier tops or jackets.
It’s a nuanced look, so if you’re not sure how to pull it off, just ask me.
Alongside track pants, comfy double-knit pull-on pants with flat, stretchy waists are also in. Elastic-waist pants have been office-acceptable for years, but finding flattering versions was the trick.
This year, I’m finding super comfortable pairs for clients with no extra pouf. One client tried on a pair and kept them on to try several tops. I was convinced she’d wear them out of the store!
(Did you get to wear your shoes home from the shoe store when you were a kid? Sadly, I didn’t.)
Note: The track pant trend* may not have the staying power of the others, so ease in before investing heavily. It also skews business casual, so consider your office culture before you try it.
